Zeribowl & Hapi Ramen Gyoza

As the site of the first-ever Zeribowl location, this café holds a special place in the brand’s story. The signature yellow has always been its defining color, but over time, the brightness had started to fade. Through this café renovation, the signature yellow takes center stage once again. It’s now used more boldly throughout the space, creating a brighter, warmer, and more expressive atmosphere while keeping the brand’s familiar identity intact.

The first floor houses Zeribowl, featuring a streamlined service counter and a compact seating area along one side. The layout was designed to encourage smooth movement through the space. Most importantly, it offers guests a relaxed and cheerful environment to enjoy snacks, drinks, and Taiwanese-style desserts.

Meanwhile, the second floor was redesigned to introduce Hapi Ramen Gyoza, Zeribowl’s sister brand. This new addition expands upon Zeribowl’s sweet menu with a heartier selection of savory dishes. A full kitchen was newly installed to support Hapi Ramen Gyoza’s menu of ramen, rice bowls, and gyoza. What was once a simple extension of Zeribowl has now transformed into a cozy, functional dining space with four-person tables that invite shared meals and conversations.

The grounded and social atmosphere above complements Zeribowl’s playful energy below. Both levels are tied together through a unified color palette, consistent lighting, and cohesive material finishes.

Before renovation began, the building was already showing visible signs of wear. Faded surfaces and aging finishes had dulled the once-lively atmosphere, prompting the need for a careful refresh to restore its vibrancy while improving the overall layout.

Our team’s role was to execute the construction work that brought the design concept to life, ensuring the renewed space met both visual and functional expectations.

The café renovation covered two floors, both unified under the same warm and inviting palette.

On the first floor, the walls, ceiling, flooring, shelves, side tables, and bar top were replaced and refinished to bring back a clean and lively character that aligns with Zeribowl’s cheerful atmosphere.

Meanwhile, the second floor involved a more comprehensive renovation to accommodate the operations of Hapi Ramen Gyoza. A fully equipped kitchen was newly built to support food preparation and service, complemented likewise to the first floor with new flooring, lighting, and a fresh coat of paint.

The staircase leading up to the second floor was also refreshed with a new coat of paint and LED strips along the stairway, creating a bright, inviting transition that ties both floors together in the same vibrant spirit as the rest of the space.

As a commercial project, maintaining balance between quality, budget, and timeline was essential. Through close coordination with the design consultants, our team ensured that every technical decision, from selecting materials and finishes to determining construction methods, aligned with the intended aesthetic vision. With strong collaboration and our on-site expertise, we ensured that the project met the desired design outcome while staying within the client’s budget and schedule expectations.

For Zeribowl, this renovation marks an important milestone in their journey, from a small home-based dessert business to the opening of their first café, and now, the renewal of that very space where it all began. Guided by their motto “A Bowl of Happiness,” the project reflects Zeribowl’s ongoing commitment to spreading joy and creating warm, shared experiences.
